6 Strategic Keys to Agentic AI
Did you ever watch the “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”? Mickey brings the kitchen to life with magic to help him clean, mops and dishes included, until he gets complacent and then it all totally spirals out of control… water and suds everywhere and the brooms fight back. The OG wizard returns, furious, and sets everything right.
This is actually the perfect analogy for Agentic AI use gone wrong.
Agentic AI is basically genAI, but super powered on Mario mushrooms. It has the ability to queue prompts, complete chunks of prompts simultaneously, and automate software. With GenAI, it is simple input-output. Ask a question, get response. With agentic, the AI has permission to ask the next question, make decisions about what to do next, and complete its own tasks.
Unlike GenAI, effective use of Agentic AI isn’t about prompt writing. Well, it is… but it is also much more. Good prompt writing is just a pre-req. Powerful agentic AI use is much deeper because it involves task delegation. It is about understanding AI well-enough to know when to hand off your decisions, and more importantly when NOT to.
Here’s what I’ve learned about keeping the brooms in line, if you want to keep the kitchen under control! After all, we don’t have Yen Sid to save us…
