AI Research Democratization

The enemy isn’t AI… it is complacency. 

User research has never been more accessible—and more dangerous—for non-research teams to take part in.

Claude can essentially build a study end-to-end: from scoping requirements to planning and designing to executing and reporting.  And teams are doing this!

The catch is there’s no guarantee any part of it was done correctly.  While the result might look good, without a research background, it is hard to know if and how things got off track.

The best way forward is to find a middle ground between research being fully self-serve and locked in an ivory tower.  To lay the foundation for that path, teams could start to think about AI democratization in terms of guardrails, boundaries, and checkpoints.
